Pipa musician in Boston, MA. I grew up in Sichuan China and started learning pipa when I was 9 years old. After moving to Germany in 2017, I started my own pipa music studio as a freelancer. During 2025, I moved to Boston, USA and continue my music life here. My main clients are German-Chinese event organizers, trade fair organizers and also restaurants. My story
葉杏 YE Xing is a Chinese-born pipa soloist based in Boston and a member of the GGCBA Chinese Music Ensemble, with which she frequently tours the Great Boston area. She learned pipa from pipa master Li Zhiyong (李智勇) in Sichuan. She plays both classical and modern pipa music. She is the winner of the 2nd prize at the Zhongsin International Music Festival 中新国际音乐比赛(Singapore) in the “Pipa” category. With her university orchestra (Zhejiang University浙江大学) she also won the 1st prize at the artistic competition of Chinese universities in the “traditional Chinese music” category.
